NINE DAY NOVENA TO
OUR LADY OF GARABANDAL

Our Lady's Feastday - July 16
Best prayed July 7 to 15th or
any time of the year.

HOW TO PRAY THIS NOVENA. For nine days, we will meditate on the Word of God and the messages of our Lady in Garabandal. In these messages, Mary gave us a synthetic catechesis of the heart of our faith: the Eucharist, the priesthood, fraternal love, sacrifice, her motherhood ... She will instruct us with the messages, which are the key to deepen through the Word of God. Proposed Prayer Program:
  1. Sign of the Cross.
  2. Act of contrition.
  3. Invocation to the Holy Spirit, we repeat three times: "Come, Holy Spirit, come through the powerful intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, your Beloved Spouse, come"
  4. We pray the Holy Rosary. We add the invocation to each mystery " Mary, Mother of God and our Mother of Carmen, pray for us. "
  5. After the Rosary, we read the texts of the day.
  6. We finish the prayer by praying to our Mother and to the archangel Saint Michael, who appeared in Garabandal:

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel

MEDITATIONS FOR EACH DAY

First Day: "I come to announce you" Word of God: "I am going to send an angel before you, to protect you on the way and lead you to the place that I have prepared for you. Respect him and listen to his voice. Do not rebel against him, because he will not forgive their transgressions, since my Name is in him. If you really listen to his voice and do everything he tells you, I will be an enemy of your enemies and an adversary of your adversaries "(Exodus 23, 20-22) Message from Garabandal: Saint Michael the Archangel appeared to the girls since June 18 On July 1, he told them: "I come to announce the visit of the Virgin under the invocation of Carmen, who will appear to you tomorrow, Sunday." We were very happy to say to her: "Let her come soon!" (Conchita's Diary) Meditation: God prepares his people through the Angels. They play a very important role in the work of redemption. In the apparitions of Fatima, in Garabandal, the visit of the Blessed Virgin Mary is foretold by an Angel. God sends them to us and has created them for us to invoke them, invoke their help, their intercession and protection.

(Conclude with the Final Prayer ).

Second Day: "A Mother who returns" Word of God: "Jesus also told them: "I am leaving, and you will seek me and die in your sin. Where I am going, you cannot go." (John 8, 21) Message from Garabandal: On Sunday July 2, the Feast of the Visitation, the Virgin appeared for the first time and "We prayed the Rosary seeing Her and She prayed with us to teach us to pray it well and when we finished the Rosary She said she was leaving. So, we told her, to stay a little bit, that she had been very little. She smiled and told us that she would come back on Monday. When she left, we were very sorry. Then some people were going to kiss us now. ask us what she had told us. Others did not believe it because they said that how the Virgin was going to talk so much because we told her many things. But most did believe because they said that she was like a mother who has not seen her daughter for a long time, and she tells him everything. With all the more reason we who had never seen her and besides, she was our Mother from heaven! " (Conchita's Diary) Meditation: The Virgin appeared to the girls, taught them the prayer of the Rosary and they talked with their Heavenly Mother. Then, she told them that she was leaving, returning to Heaven and that she would return to them. Mary teaches us to have our gaze fixed on Heaven, where She who is our Mother is. Let us go to Her, she is always waiting for us to call her, speak to her, pray the Rosary ... She is your Mother!

(Conclude with the Final Prayer ).

Third Day: "You must sacrifice more "Word of God:" "Woe to you, Corozain! Woe to you, Bethsaida! Because if the miracles performed between you had been done in Tire and Sidon, you would have converted long ago, putting on sackcloth and covering yourself with ashes "(Matthew 11, 21) Message from Garabandal: In the message of June 18, 1965 the Virgin said:" You must sacrifice more "and in that of October 18, 1961 she said:" You have to make many sacrifices, much penance " Our Lady taught the girls that sacrifices should be the stuff of daily life, doing things that e cost us out of love, offering it to God in reparation for our sins, for the priests ... Meditation: When the Virgin speaks of sacrifices, she refers to all that situation of our life in which we can offer something that costs us for the love of God. He does not ask us to make great sacrifices, but to sanctify ourselves with the everyday, faithfully doing our Christian duty, offering small daily mortifications for the Glory of his Son Jesus.

(Conclude with the Final Prayer ).

Fourth Day: "You must be very good" Word of God: "Just as he who called you is holy, you too be holy in all your conduct, according to what is written: 'Be holy, because I am holy' "(1 Peter 1, 15-16) Message from Garabandal:" You have to make many sacrifices, much penance . You have to visit the Blessed Sacrament frequently. But first you have to be very good. If you do not do it, a punishment will come" (message of 10/18/1961) Meditation: The message of Garabandal is a constant call to life in holiness. Our Mother calls us to sanctify ourselves, to return to that call of Jesus to be saints, to convert, to transform our lives according to the Gospel. Our Lady echoes, in a way, the call of the Second Vatican Council that said that the laity are also called to holiness, not only priests and consecrated persons, but the whole Church, the Bride of Christ.

(Conclude with the Final Prayer ).

Fifth Day: "Ask us sincerely." Word of God: "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; call and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who searches, finds; and to whom he calls, it will be opened. (...) If you, who are evil, know how to give good things to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give good things to those who ask him! " (Matthew 7, 7-11) Message from Garabandal: "Ask us sincerely and we will give it to you" (message of 6/18/1965) Meditation: Our Mother asks us to return to prayer, to ask God for help with our hearts , acknowledging that we are in need of his help, his love, and his mercy. We must pray again, with our hearts, asking God above all for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Our Lady asks us to pray with our hearts. In the first apparition, he taught the girls to pray the Rosary slowly, praying and meditating on each word and each mystery.

(Conclude with the Final Prayer ).

Sixth Day: "Think about the Passion of Jesus." Word of God: "Who believed what have we heard and to whom was the arm of the Lord revealed? He grew like a sprout in her presence, like a root that springs up from a barren land, without form or beauty to attract our eyes, without an aspect that could please us, despised, rejected by men, overwhelmed with pain and accustomed to suffering, as someone before whom his face is turned away, so despised that we had him for nothing. But he endured our sufferings and carried our ailment, and we considered him beaten, wounded by God and humiliated. He was pierced by our rebellions and crushed by our iniquities. The punishment that peace gives us fell on him and by his wounds we were healed. (...) When he was mistreated, he humiliated himself and did not even open his mouth: like a lamb brought to slaughter, like a mute sheep before the one who shears it, he did not open his mouth, he was arrested and unjustly judged, and who? did you worry about your luck? Because he was uprooted from the land of the living and struck down by the rebellions of my people. (...) The Lord wanted to crush him with suffering. If he offers his life as a sacrifice of reparation, he will see his offspring, he will prolong his days, and the will of the Lord will be fulfilled through him (...) My righteous Servant will justify many and he will take their faults upon himself. (...) Because he exposed his life to death and was counted among the guilty, since he bore the sin of many and interceded in favor of the guilty. " (Isaiah 53) Message from Garabandal: "You must sacrifice more, think of the Passion of Jesus" (message 6/18/1965) Meditation: In our time, with its distance from suffering and taste for temporal pleasure, the meditation of Passion is increasingly forgotten. We must re-realize the great love that God had for us by sending his only begotten Son to heal our wounds and redeem our sins. God became man, he lowered himself to the maximum of everything that was possible and was slaughtered for us, because he loves us. He not only saved us, he redeemed us: this means, that he paid "the receipt of sin" from Adam to the last of men. Let us meditate on the Passion with our hearts, because it is the greatest love that God had for us: by dying, he gave us life.

(Conclude with the Final Prayer ).

Seventh Day: "Visit the Blessed Sacrament frequently." Word of God: "Jesus answered them: "I am the bread of Lifetime. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry; whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. But I have already told you: you have seen me and yet you do not believe". (John 6, 35-36) Message from Garabandal: "We have to visit the Blessed Sacrament frequently "(10/18/1961)". To the Eucharist every time it is less important". (6/18/1965) Meditation: in the two messages the Virgin Mary asks us to return to the Heart of the life of the Church and of the world: the Eucharist. We must once again make the Eucharist the center of our life, both in the celebration of Holy Mass and in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Mary always leads us to Jesus, who is waiting day and night in the Tabernacle for us, to speak to us, to love us, to give us all his love. Let's not stop going to adore him, thank him for his love, ask for thanks and strength to continue on the path. Let's give more importance to the Eucharist in our lives!

(Conclude with the Final Prayer ).

Eighth Day: "Many on the road to perdition" Word of God: "Then Jesus said to them: "This very night, you are going to be scandalized because of me. Because the Scripture says: I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered. But after I am resurrected, I will go before you to Galilee". (Matthew 26, 31-32) Message from Garabandal: "The priests, bishops and cardinals go many on the path of perdition and with them they lead many more souls" (Message of 6/18/1965) Meditation: Our Lady warned us of the great priestly crisis that we are going through, with so many scandals, secularisations, a departure from fidelity to celibacy and chastity, the tyranny of a certain part of the clergy, among so many other horrors. Our Mother taught the girls of Garabandal to make sacrifices for the priests, to pray for them, to love the priests despite their falls. We must once again ask the Lord for the conversion of priests, and for an increase in vocations to the priesthood.

(Conclude with the Final Prayer ).

Ninth Day: "I, your Mother, love you very much" Word of God: "Next to the cross of Jesus, was his mother and the sister of his mother, Mary, wife of Cleopas, and Mary Magdalene. Seeing her mother and the disciple whom he loved close to her, Jesus said to her: "Woman, here is your son." Then he said to the disciple: "Here is your mother." And from that moment, the disciple received her in her house". (John 19: 25-27)
Message from Garabandal: "I do not come just for you, but I come for all my children, with the desire to bring them closer to Our hearts" (...) "Tell me things about my children, I have all of them under my mantle" (. ..) "You do everything on your part and We will help you" (...) "When you present yourself before God you have to show him your hands full of works done by you in favor of your brothers and for the glory of God, and now you have them empty "(excerpts from the dialogue of the Virgin with Conchita de Garabandal, 11/13/1965) Meditation: Mary in Garabandal presented herself first of all "as Our Mother", she wants us to welcome her just as the beloved disciple received her in his home, he took it as his own. She wants to enter our house, the sanctuary of our hearts only to lead us to Jesus. Mary always comes with the Child in her arms! She gives it to us, because Mary has nothing else to give us but hers, her own Son, our Lord, our God and our Savior.

(Conclude with the Final Prayer ).

Final Prayer:

"Under your protection we welcome ourselves , Santa Marķa del Carmen de Garabandal, do not discard the supplications that we address to you in our needs, but rather deliver us from all danger, oh always Virgin, Glorious and Blessed. Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. Suppress it, God, we ask supplicants, and you, Prince of the Celestial Militia, throw into hell with the Divine Power, satan and the other evil spirits that are scattered throughout the world for the perdition of souls. Amen."

Our Lady of Mount Carmel, pray for us.
